The food, the atmosphere and the staff were absolutely fantastic. We had a lovely table overlooking the golf course and the staff made us feel so welcome. It really made my birthday feel special.

The menu was amazing, there was so much choice.

I highly recommend La Palmera and will definitely be back again soon.

The service from staff was fantastic, very friends, professional and attentive. They had a very good selection of drinks available including premium lagers and spirits which were reasonably priced for a restaurant. We had starters, mains and desserts. Again all very reasonably priced and very tasty! They were also good portions as well.

All in all it was a very nice meal and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

  We arrived at our appointed time to be warmly welcomed with friendly smiles by Imad and his team. The restaurant was buzzing with every table taken. We arrived before our... read more friends and asked if we wanted to wait at our table as it was already ready. We declined the offer and were promptly offered drinks whilst we waited.

When our friends arrived we were shown to our table straight away and the waiter pulled out the chairs for our ladies, something you do not see a lot of these days. We were given menus and our drinks orders taken which arrived quickly and were served warm focaccia whilst we decided on our food.

Both our ladies had the Cappresi Salad which was more like a main course than a starter and very tasty as it was dressed with apple and pomegranate. I had the spare ribs which were slow cooked in their sauce and just melted off the bone and my friend had the garlic mushrooms again a very good portion.

For main courses we chose sirloin steak with a bordelaise sauce, a vegetable tagliatelle and a Moroccan lemon chicken. The kitchen were extremely accommodating as the chicken was supposed to be chicken legs. When asked if it could be served with a chicken breast it was no problem at all. The steaks and the Pasta were done to perfection and complemented with a sautee potatoes and vegetables of the day.

One thing that impressed me was that I chose potatas bravas to complement my steak. Imad advised that I would be better choosing the sautee potatoes which would better compliment the bordelaise sauce which I did. Imad offered to provide a portion of the former (on the house) just so that I could compare the two. Needless to say he was absolutely correct (although the Bravas was very tasty also).

Normally we do not do desserts however as this was a birthday celebration we decided to treat ourselves. Mango Sorbet, Hazelnut Cheese Cake and Homemade Tiramisu all hit the spot and finished the meal off with a flourish.

When the bill came we were offered limocello to see us on our way.

The total bill including drinks and was £146 (including the tip) which for 4 of us was excellent value.

We found out that the restaurant has only been open since May 2021.

Would we come back to La Palmera - Definitely.
Would I recommend it - Definitely but make sure you book especially at weekends.

Firstly we sat in the conservatory area which was next to the main area and it had lovely ambience.
The drinks came straight away and I was surprised as the restaurant was pretty full . The service was good and the food extremely nice. Garlic mushrooms were in a lovely sauce and the portion was generous. My main , spaghetti bolognese was the best I’ve had for a long time. Much better than a local well known Italian on Street Lane, with prices that are much higher all in. All the good was super hot and my friends enjoyed their pasta dishes too. We all had a nice time because the food was good, the noise level wasn’t too high and we weren’t distracted by poor service or food.
Highly recommend Italian restaurant. We’ll definitely visit again!!!

  Went to La Palmera yesterday lunch time to see how it compared to La Cantina.Have been to the latter on many occasions since it opened but in my opinion La... read more Palmera is even better.The setting is clearly better with it being situated next to the golf course and parking is much easier as well.For the price the food was very good as was the service which was very efficient and friendly.This is a more relaxing dining experience than La Cantina which is a tad on the cramped side and when full can be quite noisey.I hope it succeeds as based on my visit it certainly deserves to.
